What this site collects

Above the Line does not use advertising trackers, visitor analytics or marketing cookies. The hosting infrastructure may process normal technical request data, such as an IP address, browser information, requested page and time of access, to deliver and protect the site. How long those server logs are kept depends on the current hosting configuration.

Images and maps

Photographs are delivered from Hetzner Object Storage. Route maps load map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which means the visitor's browser makes a request to that service when a route map is displayed. OpenStreetMap may receive technical request information including the visitor's IP address.

Cookies

Public visitors do not need an account and are not given an analytics cookie. A secure authentication cookie is used only when the site owner signs in to the private administration area. It lasts for up to 14 days and is required to keep that session signed in.
